A NEW BLOG, WITH A NEW EMPHASIS

THE NEW, RELAXED ME--MARY DE LA PENA, AUTHOR!
Hi, all:
Today I am posting this new photo of me as part of the launch for a new blog I am starting.  I find the mixing of topics in Law and Life is too jarring for me to write, and maybe for you to read.

Mind you, I enjoy writing about the law, and about politics, since they both affect our lives in a very deep way.  But, ugh! It can get so depressing when some days all I want to do is write about funny things that happen to me and to my animals, or even to Prince Charming.

So, with the encouragement of Terra Fina Publishing, I will soon go online with a second blog. The tentative title is Living in the Now, however, we are still investigating if that title is already taken by others.  For now, understand that I love to write, and I love writing about life and all of its vagaries.  Stay tuned.  I will let you know when it launches.

As a taste, I will post my first blog for that site.Forgive me if I use the title, LIving in the Now, but I really believe I am finally learning how to do that.

Lots of love and affection,
Mary (M.J.) de la Pena, author and attorney

LIVING IN THE NOW
A BLOG BY
MARY DE LA PEÑA, AUTHOR

THIS IS SCRUGGS, THE SHELTER DOG
SCRUGGS TAUGHT ME HOW TO LIVE IN THE NOW
Terra Fina Publishing invited me to start a new author’s blog focusing on life, living, and the joy of owning animals.  Of course there is no one more experienced in teaching humans how to understand living in the present than dogs.  It would appear that no matter how depressing their original circumstances, these wonderful creatures focus on the joy of living in the very real present moment.

Above is a picture of Scruggs, a shelter dog I adopted four years ago this month.  He has been my teacher and my inspiration as I learned to live with chronic fatigue syndrome and transitioned from over-worked; overly stressed; and barely tolerable wife and law partner, to a more serene and happy author.

The transition has not always been easy, but with the help of wonderful angels posing as humans and animals, I am now living my dream as a full time author.  Yes, at the ripe old age of 64, I am now a published author, and writing more books.

So, I hope you join me as I introduce you to Prince Charming (my husband and law partner), my other two dogs—Tara and Fina; and my two cats—Samantha and Boo Bear, as we discuss living in the moment, and following our dreams.

Look for me at my newest blog at the publisher's website, www.terrafinapublishing.com, as well as this site of Law and Life.
